Gold Cable is a Cable added by IndustrialCraft². Gold cable has 2 levels of insulation, providing less energy loss per block. Insulated Gold Cable can be painted with a Painter.

Energy[edit]

Gold Cable can handle a maximum of 128 EU/p (Medium Voltage). Any higher and the cable will melt. This cable has a very high distance-related energy loss.

Since Minecraft 1.6 and IndustrialCraft² Experimental the cable's maximum voltage has been increased to 512 EU/p, or High Voltage. In addition, the option for single insulation has been removed and the double insulated cable is now simply called "Insulated Gold Cable".
